Years ago I was on a trip to Greece, where, standing on the southern coast of Crete, I gazed upon water so magnificently turquoise that I imagined diving in and becoming a mermaid, never to return. This collage, one of my first mermaid creations, captures my surprise upon awakening to find that I had grown a tail and transformed into a mermaid.
 
Some might say I have a problem, but I believe I'm just curating an incredible collection of decorative papers. Florentine prints, Venetian and French marbles, and Thai and Japanese mulberry papers each inspire different facets of the mermaid ecosystem. I've discovered a magnificent use for these papers in my mermaid collages.
