I take great pleasure in manipulating bronze sculptures after casting. This particular piece was cast in a sand mold, where I embedded glass shards to see if they would fuse with the bronze. When it didn't turn out as expected, I used an acetylene torch to melt and manipulate the remaining glass. The resulting effect evokes the imagery of what it might have been like in Pompeii on that fateful day.
