During the first week of the COVID-19 shutdown, as people were forced into quarantine, the world saw a remarkable reduction in pollution. In some places, landscapes became visible for the first time in years. This stark change made me reflect on the fragile relationship between humanity and nature. If we left nature undisturbed, it might heal and return to a healthy state. However, the extensive habitat destruction and pervasive plastic pollution we've caused mean that nature now relies on us to undo the damage. This delicate balance between man and nature is a central theme in my series of sculptures.
